Home to 15-plus golf courses with more on the way, Los Cabos counts among its golf designers a who’s-who of the world’s greatest. And nearly year-round sunshine means that golf can always be on the day’s roster of events.

From Jack Nicklaus, who brought golfing fame to Los Cabos with his design at Palmilla Golf Club in 1992, to Tiger Woods, who completed his first course design at El Cardonal at Diamante in 2014, the world’s greatest golf designers have set their mark on Los Cabos. Today’s golf aficionados can tee off at courses designed by such signature names as Robert Trent Jones Jr., Greg Norman, Pete Dye, Tom Weiskopf, Tom Fazio and Davis Love III.
新沙巴体育The most recent addition, at the end of 2018, came from Fred Couples, with a newly opened private course at Twin Dolphin Golf Club. The par-72 layout, built on a broad sloping plateau, features a sweeping ocean view from every hole with the mountains as a backdrop. Coming in fall 2019 is a renovation of the famed Signature Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol, under the watchful eye of original designer Jack Nicklaus. Meanwhile, the Tom Weiskopf-designed Desert Course at Cabo del Sol continues to meld stunning scenery with challenging elevation changes.
Several of Nicklaus’ notable courses are favorites in the region, including Quivira, set among massive sand dunes, rugged cliffs and white-sand beaches. The Nicklaus I and Nicklaus II championship courses at Puerto Los Cabos, along with the Norman Course designed by Greg Norman, all feature expansive views of the Sea of Cortez. Palmilla Golf Club, featuring three distinctive nines—Arroyo, Mountain and Ocean—are all designed by Nicklaus. His work also includes the 18-hole course at Club Campestre San Jose and the desert landscapes of the course at El Dorado Golf & Beach Club.
The 18-hole championship El Cardonal at Diamante, Tiger Woods’ architectural debut in 2014, features native dunes and arroyos. The course complements the club’s Dunes Course—a beachfront gem with ocean views designed by PGA Tour winner Davis Love III—and Woods’ Oasis Short Course, the first par-3 course in Los Cabos.
Among the area’s other celebrated golf courses is the Pete Dye-designed course at the Cabo San Lucas Country Club, featuring spectacular views of El Arco and one of the longest golf holes in Mexico. Noteworthy courses by Tom Fazio include the 18-hole course at Chileno Bay Club, blending seamlessly into the surrounding desert, and the private course at Querencia Golf Club, spanning more than 300 acres. The course at Cabo Real Golf Club, a multi-themed target-style course, was designed by Robert Trent Jones II. And the nine-hole course at Vidanta Golf features challenging holes that include water and bunkers.
Those seeking to perfect their game have several options at high-profile courses, including golf academies at Diamante and Cabo San Lucas, and private instruction with pros at courses such as Cabo del Sol, Palmilla Country Club, Quivira and more.
